וְחַלְלֵיהֶ֣ם יֻשְׁלָ֔כוּ וּפִגְרֵיהֶ֖ם יַעֲלֶ֣ה בָאְשָׁ֑ם וְנָמַ֥סּוּ הָרִ֖ים מִדָּמָֽם׃
אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָֽמְר֨וּ ׀ לִלְשֹׁנֵ֣נוּ נַ֭גְבִּיר שְׂפָתֵ֣ינוּ אִתָּ֑נוּ מִ֖י אָד֣וֹן לָֽנוּ׃
וַ֠יָּחֶל לִבְנ֞וֹת בַּחֹ֤דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי֙ בַּשֵּׁנִ֔י בִּשְׁנַ֥ת אַרְבַּ֖ע לְמַלְכוּתֽוֹ׃
וַיָּרֵ֧עוּ אֹתָ֛נוּ הַמִּצְרִ֖ים וַיְעַנּ֑וּנוּ וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ עָלֵ֖ינוּ עֲבֹדָ֥ה קָשָֽׁה׃
וַיִּסְע֖וּ מֵעַלְמֹ֣ן דִּבְלָתָ֑יְמָה וַֽיַּחֲנ֛וּ בְּהָרֵ֥י הָעֲבָרִ֖ים לִפְנֵ֥י נְבֽוֹ׃
כְּמַרְעִיתָם֙ וַיִּשְׂבָּ֔עוּ שָׂבְע֖וּ וַיָּ֣רָם לִבָּ֑ם עַל־ כֵּ֖ן שְׁכֵחֽוּנִי׃
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

idaM te somyam madhv adhukSann adribhir naraH
avantam atraye gRhaM kRNutaM yuvam ashvinaa
abhiim aha svajenyam bhuumaa pRSTheva ruruhuH
evam bhojeSu yajvasv asmaakam uditaM kRdhi
taM tvaa suteSv aabhuvo hinvire devataataye
μὴ δέ τί οἱ θάνατος μελέτω φρεσὶ μὴ δέ τι τάρβος·
ἀλλὰ τόδʼ αἰνὸν ἄχος κραδίην καὶ θυμὸν ἱκάνει,
ἣ δʼ ἀναχασσαμένη λίθον εἵλετο χειρὶ παχείῃ
τοὺς μάλα θαρσύνεσκε παριστάμενος ἐπέεσσιν·
νηλεὲς ἦτορ ἔχειν· στρεπτοὶ δέ τε καὶ θεοὶ αὐτοί,
ἤματι τῷ ὅτε παῖδα κατέκτανον Ἀμφιδάμαντος
σμερδαλέῳ κεκάλυφθʼ· ὃ δʼ ἄρʼ ἀσπίδος ὀμφαλὸν οὖτα,
ἐν δέ τέ οἱ κραδίη μεγάλα στέρνοισι πατάσσει
