עָלָ֤ה הַפֹּרֵץ֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם פָּֽרְצוּ֙ וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֔רוּ שַׁ֖עַר וַיֵּ֣צְאוּ ב֑וֹ וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ר מַלְכָּם֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיהוָ֖ה בְּרֹאשָֽׁם׃
לֹא־ תֹאבֶ֣ה ל֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א תִשְׁמַ֖ע אֵלָ֑יו וְלֹא־ תָח֤וֹס עֵֽינְךָ֙ עָלָ֔יו וְלֹֽא־ תַחְמֹ֥ל וְלֹֽא־ תְכַסֶּ֖ה עָלָֽיו׃
וַתּ֖וֹסֶף אֶל־ תַּזְנוּתֶ֑יהָ וַתֵּ֗רֶא אַנְשֵׁי֙ מְחֻקֶּ֣ה עַל־ הַקִּ֔יר צַלְמֵ֣י כשדיים כַשְׂדִּ֔ים חֲקֻקִ֖ים בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃
בְּגִּבְע֗וֹן נִרְאָ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה בַּחֲל֣וֹם הַלָּ֑יְלָה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֔ים שְׁאַ֖ל מָ֥ה אֶתֶּן־ לָֽךְ׃
וְקִבְּלוּ֙ הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם מִשְׁקַ֛ל הַכֶּ֥סֶף וְהַזָּהָ֖ב וְהַכֵּלִ֑ים לְהָבִ֥יא לִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם לְבֵ֥ית אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ הַנִּשְׁאָ֣ר בְּצִיּ֗וֹן וְהַנּוֹתָר֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם קָד֖וֹשׁ יֵאָ֣מֶר ל֑וֹ כָּל־ הַכָּת֥וּב לַחַיִּ֖ים בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
לֹ֣א אֶת־ אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ כָּרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֑את כִּ֣י אִתָּ֔נוּ אֲנַ֨חְנוּ אֵ֥לֶּה פֹ֛ה הַיּ֖וֹם כֻּלָּ֥נוּ חַיִּֽים׃
וּלְשֵׁ֙בֶט֙ הַלֵּוִ֔י לֹֽא־ נָתַ֥ן מֹשֶׁ֖ה נַחֲלָ֑ה יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ ה֣וּא נַחֲלָתָ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר לָהֶֽם׃
וּלְשָׁא֣וּל פִּלֶ֔גֶשׁ וּשְׁמָ֖הּ רִצְפָּ֣ה בַת־ אַיָּ֑ה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ אַבְנֵ֔ר מַדּ֥וּעַ בָּ֖אתָה אֶל־ פִּילֶ֥גֶשׁ אָבִֽי׃
וַיִּוָּ֣עֲד֔וּ כֹּ֖ל הַמְּלָכִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ וַיַּחֲנ֤וּ יַחְדָּו֙ אֶל־ מֵ֣י מֵר֔וֹם לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם עִם־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
אֶת־ יְהוָ֖ה הָי֣וּ יְרֵאִ֑ים וְאֶת־ אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶם֙ הָי֣וּ עֹֽבְדִ֔ים כְּמִשְׁפַּט֙ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־ הִגְל֥וּ אֹתָ֖ם מִשָּֽׁם׃
וְאֵת֩ כָּל־ קִיר֨וֹת הַבַּ֜יִת מֵסַ֣ב ׀ קָלַ֗ע פִּתּוּחֵי֙ מִקְלְעוֹת֙ כְּרוּבִ֣ים וְתִֽמֹרֹ֔ת וּפְטוּרֵ֖י צִצִּ֑ים מִלִּפְנִ֖ים וְלַחִיצֽוֹן׃
וְלֶ֤חֶם אֵין֙ בְּכָל־ הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּֽי־ כָבֵ֥ד הָרָעָ֖ב מְאֹ֑ד וַתֵּ֜לַהּ אֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ וְאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן מִפְּנֵ֖י הָרָעָֽב׃
וַיִּקַּ֞ח אֶלְעָזָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֗ן אֵ֚ת מַחְתּ֣וֹת הַנְּחֹ֔שֶׁת אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִקְרִ֖יבוּ הַשְּׂרֻפִ֑ים וַֽיְרַקְּע֖וּם צִפּ֥וּי לַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃
וּבְרִעָ֣ה וָשֶׁ֔מַע הֵ֚מָּה רָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֔וֹת לְיוֹשְׁבֵ֖י אַיָּל֑וֹן הֵ֥מָּה הִבְרִ֖יחוּ אֶת־ י֥וֹשְׁבֵי גַֽת׃
וְכֹל֙ מַלְכֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ מְבַקְשִׁ֖ים אֶת־ פְּנֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ אֶת־ חָכְמָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥ן הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃
Concerning Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah.
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the LORD God.
For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.
Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.
Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.
The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
hotaa mandro vishaaM damuunaas tiras tamo dadRshe raamyaaNaam
imaa giraH savitaaraM sujihvam puurNagabhastim iiLate supaaNim
saM te payaaMsi sam u yantu vaajaaH saM vRSNyaany abhimaatiSaahaH
yaM devaasa iiDyaM vishvavidaM havyavaaham adadhur adhvareSu
rathaM ye cakruH suvRtaM sucetaso .avihvarantam manasas pari dhyayaa
vayaM te asyaaM sumatau caniSThaaH syaama varuuthe aghnato nRpiitau
agniM taM giirbhir hinuhi sva aa dame ya eko vasvo varuNo na raajati
sharman syaama marutaam upasthe yuuyam paata svastibhiH sadaa naH
raasi kSayaM raasi mitram asme raasi shardha indra maarutaM naH
ni vajram indro harivaan mimikSan sam andhasaa madeSu vaa uvoca
mitras tan no varuNo devo aryaH pra saadhiSThebhiH pathibhir nayantu
atriM na mahas tamaso .amumuktaM tuurvataM naraa duritaad abhiike
pra vo mahe mahivRdhe bharadhvam pracetase pra sumatiM kRNudhvam
aad it somo vi papRcyaad asuSviin aad ij jujoSa vRSabhaM yajadhyai
sharman syaama marutaam upasthe yuuyam paata svastibhiH sadaa naH
sa naH pavasva vasumad dhiraNyavad vayaM syaama bhuvaneSu jiivase
yujaM vajraM vRSabhash cakra indro nir jyotiSaa tamaso gaa adukSat
itthaa gRNanto mahinasya sharman divi Syaama paarye goSatamaaH
aditir dyaavaapRthivii Rtam mahad indraaviSNuu marutaH sva\r bRhat
yad indra puurvo aparaaya shikSann ayaj jyaayaan kaniiyaso deSNam
tigmaaniikaM svayashasaM janeSu virocamaanam pari SiiM nayanti
ὃς ἐν νόμῳ καυχᾶσαι, διὰ τῆς παραβάσεως τοῦ νόμου τὸν θεὸν ἀτιμάζεις;
لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
وَمِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
