וַיְהִי֙ עַם־ הָאָ֔רֶץ מְרַפִּ֖ים יְדֵ֣י עַם־ יְהוּדָ֑ה ומבלהים וּֽמְבַהֲלִ֥ים אוֹתָ֖ם לִבְנֽוֹת׃
וּמִֽיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִבְּנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֡שׁ רַ֠מְיָה וְיִזִּיָּ֤ה וּמַלְכִּיָּה֙ וּמִיָּמִ֣ן וְאֶלְעָזָ֔ר וּמַלְכִּיָּ֖ה וּבְנָיָֽה׃
הֲלֹ֗א כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֛יתִי לְשֹׁמְר֖וֹן וְלֶאֱלִילֶ֑יהָ כֵּ֛ן אֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה לִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וְלַעֲצַבֶּֽיהָ׃
קָרוֹב֙ מַצְדִּיקִ֔י מִֽי־ יָרִ֥יב אִתִּ֖י נַ֣עַמְדָה יָּ֑חַד מִֽי־ בַ֥עַל מִשְׁפָּטִ֖י יִגַּ֥שׁ אֵלָֽי׃
הַצּוּר֙ תָּמִ֣ים פָּעֳל֔וֹ כִּ֥י כָל־ דְּרָכָ֖יו מִשְׁפָּ֑ט אֵ֤ל אֱמוּנָה֙ וְאֵ֣ין עָ֔וֶל צַדִּ֥יק וְיָשָׁ֖ר הֽוּא׃
וַיְהִ֗י כְּהָכִ֞ין מַלְכ֤וּת רְחַבְעָם֙ וּכְחֶזְקָת֔וֹ עָזַ֖ב אֶת־ תּוֹרַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וְכָל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עִמּֽוֹ׃
וַיְהִי־ נַ֗עַר מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִמִּשְׁפַּ֖חַת יְהוּדָ֑ה וְה֥וּא לֵוִ֖י וְה֥וּא גָֽר־ שָֽׁם׃
בִּצְדָקָ֖ה תִּכּוֹנָ֑נִי רַחֲקִ֤י מֵעֹ֙שֶׁק֙ כִּֽי־ לֹ֣א תִירָ֔אִי וּמִ֨מְּחִתָּ֔ה כִּ֥י לֹֽא־ תִקְרַ֖ב אֵלָֽיִךְ׃
וְהִקְרִ֤יב אַהֲרֹן֙ אֶת־ הַשָּׂעִ֔יר אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָלָ֥ה עָלָ֛יו הַגּוֹרָ֖ל לַיהוָ֑ה וְעָשָׂ֖הוּ חַטָּֽאת׃
וַיַּ֥עַן יַעֲקֹ֖ב וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְלָבָ֑ן כִּ֣י יָרֵ֔אתִי כִּ֣י אָמַ֔רְתִּי פֶּן־ תִּגְזֹ֥ל אֶת־ בְּנוֹתֶ֖יךָ מֵעִמִּֽי׃
וְאֶת־ כָּל־ הַבַּ֛יִת צִפָּ֥ה זָהָ֖ב עַד־ תֹּ֣ם כָּל־ הַבָּ֑יִת וְכָל־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֥חַ אֲֽשֶׁר־ לַדְּבִ֖יר צִפָּ֥ה זָהָֽב׃
וּמִֽן־ הַלְוִיִּ֑ם יוֹזָבָ֣ד וְשִׁמְעִ֗י וְקֵֽלָיָה֙ ה֣וּא קְלִיטָ֔א פְּתַֽחְיָ֥ה יְהוּדָ֖ה וֶאֱלִיעֶֽזֶר׃
וַיְהִ֣י לִשְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אַרְבָּעִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶף אֻרְוֺ֥ת סוּסִ֖ים לְמֶרְכָּב֑וֹ וּשְׁנֵים־ עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף פָּרָשִֽׁים׃
וַיְהִ֕י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמַ֛ע עֶ֥בֶד אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֶת־ דִּבְרֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ אַ֖רְצָה לֽ͏ַיהוָֽה׃
כִּ֘י ה֤וּא אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וַאֲנַ֤חְנוּ עַ֣ם מַ֭רְעִיתוֹ וְצֹ֣אן יָד֑וֹ הַ֝יּ֗וֹם אִֽם־ בְּקֹל֥וֹ תִשְׁמָֽעוּ׃
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

garbhaM dhehi siniivaali garbhaM dhehi sarasvati
ud u shriya uSaso rocamaanaa asthur apaaM normayo rushantaH
jaratiibhir oSadhiibhiH parNebhiH shakunaanaam
yebhir apatyam manuSaH pariiyase yebhir vishvaM sva\r dRshe
abhraataro na yoSaNo vyantaH patiripo na janayo durevaaH
ime shaMsaM vanuSyato ni paanti guru dveSo araruSe dadhanti
ime vayanti pitaro ya aayayuH pra vayaapa vayety aasate tate
naamaani te shatakrato vishvaabhir giirbhir iimahe
aare asmat kRNuhi daivyam bhayam aare hetiir adeviiH
shukraav anaDvaahaav aastaaM yad ayaat suuryaa gRham
φθέγγεο δʼ ᾗ κεν ἴῃσθα καὶ ἐγρήγορθαι ἄνωχθι
وَإِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
