וַיִּתֵּן֩ יְהוָ֨ה גַּם־ אוֹתָ֜הּ בְּיַ֣ד יִשְׂרָאֵל֘ וְאֶת־ מַלְכָּהּ֒ וַיַּכֶּ֣הָ לְפִי־ חֶ֗רֶב וְאֶת־ כָּל־ הַנֶּ֙פֶשׁ֙ אֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֔הּ לֹֽא־ הִשְׁאִ֥יר בָּ֖הּ שָׂרִ֑יד וַיַּ֣עַשׂ לְמַלְכָּ֔הּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה לְמֶ֥לֶךְ יְרִיחֽוֹ׃
וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח הָעָם֙ שִׁלֹ֔ה וַיִּשְׂא֣וּ מִשָּׁ֗ם אֵ֣ת אֲר֧וֹן בְּרִית־ יְהוָ֛ה צְבָא֖וֹת יֹשֵׁ֣ב הַכְּרֻבִ֑ים וְשָׁ֞ם שְׁנֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־ עֵלִ֗י עִם־ אֲרוֹן֙ בְּרִ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים חָפְנִ֖י וּפִֽינְחָֽס׃
וַיַּֽעַבְרוּ֩ אֲנָשִׁ֨ים מִדְיָנִ֜ים סֹֽחֲרִ֗ים וַֽיִּמְשְׁכוּ֙ וַיַּֽעֲל֤וּ אֶת־ יוֹסֵף֙ מִן־ הַבּ֔וֹר וַיִּמְכְּר֧וּ אֶת־ יוֹסֵ֛ף לַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִ֖ים בְּעֶשְׂרִ֣ים כָּ֑סֶף וַיָּבִ֥יאוּ אֶת־ יוֹסֵ֖ף מִצְרָֽיְמָה׃
וַיַּֽעֲמֵ֨ד אֶת־ הַלְוִיִּ֜ם בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֗ה בִּמְצִלְתַּ֙יִם֙ בִּנְבָלִ֣ים וּבְכִנֹּר֔וֹת בְּמִצְוַ֥ת דָּוִ֛יד וְגָ֥ד חֹזֵֽה־ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְנָתָ֣ן הַנָּבִ֑יא כִּ֧י בְיַד־ יְהוָ֛ה הַמִּצְוָ֖ה בְּיַד־ נְבִיאָֽיו׃
הִנֵּ֛ה אֲנַ֥חְנוּ בָאִ֖ים בָּאָ֑רֶץ אֶת־ תִּקְוַ֡ת חוּט֩ הַשָּׁנִ֨י הַזֶּ֜ה תִּקְשְׁרִ֗י בַּֽחַלּוֹן֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הוֹרַדְתֵּ֣נוּ ב֔וֹ וְאֶת־ אָבִ֨יךְ וְאֶת־ אִמֵּ֜ךְ וְאֶת־ אַחַ֗יִךְ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ בֵּ֣ית אָבִ֔יךְ תַּאַסְפִ֥י אֵלַ֖יִךְ הַבָּֽיְתָה׃
וַיִקַּ֤ח הָמָן֙ אֶת־ הַלְּב֣וּשׁ וְאֶת־ הַסּ֔וּס וַיַּלְבֵּ֖שׁ אֶֽת־ מָרְדֳּכָ֑י וַיַּרְכִּיבֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּרְח֣וֹב הָעִ֔יר וַיִּקְרָ֣א לְפָנָ֔יו כָּ֚כָה יֵעָשֶׂ֣ה לָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ חָפֵ֥ץ בִּיקָרֽוֹ׃
וְאֶת־ הָעָ֨ם אֲשֶׁר־ בָּ֜הּ הוֹצִ֗יא וַיָּ֨שַׂר בַּמְּגֵרָ֜ה וּבַחֲרִיצֵ֤י הַבַּרְזֶל֙ וּבַמְּגֵר֔וֹת וְכֵן֙ יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה דָוִ֔יד לְכֹ֖ל עָרֵ֣י בְנֵי־ עַמּ֑וֹן וַיָּ֧שָׁב דָּוִ֛יד וְכָל־ הָעָ֖ם יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;
