עדים נאמנים שלשה הם, וכל אחד ואחד לבדו עומד, ומעידין על האל כי הוא אחד ואין לו שני. ואלו הן, עול"ם שנ"ה נפ"ש:
וְהָיְתָ֥ה הַקֶּ֖שֶׁת בֶּֽעָנָ֑ן וּרְאִיתִ֗יהָ לִזְכֹּר֙ בְּרִ֣ית עוֹלָ֔ם בֵּ֣ין אֱלֹהִ֔ים וּבֵין֙ כָּל־ נֶ֣פֶשׁ חַיָּ֔ה בְּכָל־ בָּשָׂ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
וּשְׁלֹשׁ־ מֵא֤וֹת מָֽגִנִּים֙ זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֔וּט שְׁלֹ֤שׁ מֵאוֹת֙ זָהָ֔ב יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל־ הַמָּגֵ֣ן הָאֶחָ֑ת וַיִּתְּנֵ֣ם הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ בְּבֵ֖ית יַ֥עַר הַלְּבָנֽוֹן׃
וַיָּ֣שֶׂם אֹתָ֣הּ יוֹסֵ֡ף לְחֹק֩ עַד־ הַיּ֨וֹם הַזֶּ֜ה עַל־ אַדְמַ֥ת מִצְרַ֛יִם לְפַרְעֹ֖ה לַחֹ֑מֶשׁ רַ֞ק אַדְמַ֤ת הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ לְבַדָּ֔ם לֹ֥א הָיְתָ֖ה לְפַרְעֹֽה׃
שְׁא֗וֹל מִתַּ֛חַת רָגְזָ֥ה לְךָ֖ לִקְרַ֣את בּוֹאֶ֑ךָ עוֹרֵ֨ר לְךָ֤ רְפָאִים֙ כָּל־ עַתּ֣וּדֵי אָ֔רֶץ הֵקִים֙ מִכִּסְאוֹתָ֔ם כֹּ֖ל מַלְכֵ֥י גוֹיִֽם׃
וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ הָ֣בָה ׀ נִבְנֶה־ לָּ֣נוּ עִ֗יר וּמִגְדָּל֙ וְרֹאשׁ֣וֹ בַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְנַֽעֲשֶׂה־ לָּ֖נוּ שֵׁ֑ם פֶּן־ נָפ֖וּץ עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י כָל־ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
וַתֵּלֶךְ֩ וַתֵּ֨שֶׁב לָ֜הּ מִנֶּ֗גֶד הַרְחֵק֙ כִּמְטַחֲוֵ֣י קֶ֔שֶׁת כִּ֣י אֽ͏ָמְרָ֔ה אַל־ אֶרְאֶ֖ה בְּמ֣וֹת הַיָּ֑לֶד וַתֵּ֣שֶׁב מִנֶּ֔גֶד וַתִּשָּׂ֥א אֶת־ קֹלָ֖הּ וַתֵּֽבְךְּ׃
צַדִּ֥יק ה֛וּא יְהוָ֖ה כִּ֣י פִ֣יהוּ מָרִ֑יתִי שִׁמְעוּ־ נָ֣א כָל־ עמים הָֽעַמִּ֗ים וּרְאוּ֙ מַכְאֹבִ֔י בְּתוּלֹתַ֥י וּבַחוּרַ֖י הָלְכ֥וּ בַשֶּֽׁבִי׃
וְהִשִּׂ֨יג לָכֶ֥ם דַּ֙יִשׁ֙ אֶת־ בָּצִ֔יר וּבָצִ֖יר יַשִּׂ֣יג אֶת־ זָ֑רַע וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם לַחְמְכֶם֙ לָשֹׂ֔בַע וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לָבֶ֖טַח בְּאַרְצְכֶֽם׃
שַׁאֲלוּ־ נָ֣א וּרְא֔וּ אִם־ יֹלֵ֖ד זָכָ֑ר מַדּוּעַ֩ רָאִ֨יתִי כָל־ גֶּ֜בֶר יָדָ֤יו עַל־ חֲלָצָיו֙ כַּיּ֣וֹלֵדָ֔ה וְנֶהֶפְכ֥וּ כָל־ פָּנִ֖ים לְיֵרָקֽוֹן׃
אִם־ יָצָ֣אתִי הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה וְהִנֵּה֙ חַלְלֵי־ חֶ֔רֶב וְאִם֙ בָּ֣אתִי הָעִ֔יר וְהִנֵּ֖ה תַּחֲלוּאֵ֣י רָעָ֑ב כִּֽי־ גַם־ נָבִ֧יא גַם־ כֹּהֵ֛ן סָחֲר֥וּ אֶל־ אֶ֖רֶץ וְלֹ֥א יָדָֽעוּ׃
וְלָקַ֣ח מְלֹֽא־ הַ֠מַּחְתָּה גַּֽחֲלֵי־ אֵ֞שׁ מֵעַ֤ל הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וּמְלֹ֣א חָפְנָ֔יו קְטֹ֥רֶת סַמִּ֖ים דַּקָּ֑ה וְהֵבִ֖יא מִבֵּ֥ית לַפָּרֹֽכֶת׃
וְלֹֽא־ נִשְׁאַ֣ר אִ֗ישׁ בָּעַי֙ וּבֵ֣ית אֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־ יָצְא֖וּ אַחֲרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיַּעַזְב֤וּ אֶת־ הָעִיר֙ פְּתוּחָ֔ה וַֽיִּרְדְּפ֖וּ אַחֲרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
עַל־ כֵּ֡ן קָֽרְאוּ֩ לַיָּמִ֨ים הָאֵ֤לֶּה פוּרִים֙ עַל־ שֵׁ֣ם הַפּ֔וּר עַל־ כֵּ֕ן עַל־ כָּל־ דִּבְרֵ֖י הָאִגֶּ֣רֶת הַזֹּ֑את וּמָֽה־ רָא֣וּ עַל־ כָּ֔כָה וּמָ֥ה הִגִּ֖יעַ אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
בַּֽחוּצוֹת֙ יִתְהוֹלְל֣וּ הָרֶ֔כֶב יִֽשְׁתַּקְשְׁק֖וּן בָּרְחֹב֑וֹת מַרְאֵיהֶן֙ כַּלַּפִּידִ֔ם כַּבְּרָקִ֖ים יְרוֹצֵֽצוּ׃
וְאַתָּה֙ כִּֽי־ הִזְהַ֣רְתָּ רָשָׁ֔ע וְלֹא־ שָׁב֙ מֵֽרִשְׁע֔וֹ וּמִדַּרְכּ֖וֹ הָרְשָׁעָ֑ה ה֚וּא בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ יָמ֔וּת וְאַתָּ֖ה אֶֽת־ נַפְשְׁךָ֥ הִצַּֽלְתָּ׃
וְאַתָּ֞ה אִם־ תֵּלֵ֣ךְ לְפָנַ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הָלַךְ֙ דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֔יךָ וְלַעֲשׂ֕וֹת כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתִ֑יךָ וְחֻקַּ֥י וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖י תִּשְׁמֽוֹר׃
And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;
And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.
The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre.
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it.
And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.
When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.

अज्ञश्चाश्रद्दधानश्च संशयात्मा विनश्यति । नायं लोकोऽस्ति न परो न सुखं संशयात्मनः
वेदाऽविनाशिनं नित्यं य एनमजमव्ययम् । कथं स पुरुषः पार्थ कं घातयति हन्ति कम्
εἴ γε ἠκούσατε τὴν οἰκονομίαν τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ τῆς δοθείσης μοι εἰς ὑμᾶς·
Συνεργοῦντες δὲ καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν μὴ εἰς κενὸν τὴν χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ δέξασθαι ὑμᾶς·
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِنَ الْكِتَابِ يَشْتَرُونَ الضَّلَالَةَ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا السَّبِيلَ
