וַיְהִ֗י בְּהִשָּׁמַ֤ע דְּבַר־ הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְדָת֔וֹ וּֽבְהִקָּבֵ֞ץ נְעָר֥וֹת רַבּ֛וֹת אֶל־ שׁוּשַׁ֥ן הַבִּירָ֖ה אֶל־ יַ֣ד הֵגָ֑י וַתִּלָּקַ֤ח אֶסְתֵּר֙ אֶל־ בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֶל־ יַ֥ד הֵגַ֖י שֹׁמֵ֥ר הַנָּשִֽׁים׃
הֵ֗ם עִם־ הָאֶ֤בֶן הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּגִבְע֔וֹן וַעֲמָשָׂ֖א בָּ֣א לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם וְיוֹאָ֞ב חָג֣וּר ׀ מִדּ֣וֹ לְבֻשׁ֗וּ וְעָלָ֞ו חֲג֥וֹר חֶ֙רֶב֙ מְצֻמֶּ֤דֶת עַל־ מָתְנָיו֙ בְּתַעְרָ֔הּ וְה֥וּא יָצָ֖א וַתִּפֹּֽל׃
וּבָ֣אנוּ אֵלָ֗יו באחת בְּאַחַ֤ד הַמְּקוֹמֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצָ֣א שָׁ֔ם וְנַ֣חְנוּ עָלָ֔יו כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר יִפֹּ֥ל הַטַּ֖ל עַל־ הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־ נ֥וֹתַר בּ֛וֹ וּבְכָל־ הָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־ אִתּ֖וֹ גַּם־ אֶחָֽד׃
יִפְתַּ֣ח יְהוָ֣ה ׀ לְ֠ךָ אֶת־ אוֹצָר֨וֹ הַטּ֜וֹב אֶת־ הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם לָתֵ֤ת מְטַֽר־ אַרְצְךָ֙ בְּעִתּ֔וֹ וּלְבָרֵ֕ךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־ מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדֶ֑ךָ וְהִלְוִ֙יתָ֙ גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֔ים וְאַתָּ֖ה לֹ֥א תִלְוֶֽה׃
וְשָׁ֨מַעְתָּ֜ אֶל־ תַּחֲנוּנֵ֤י עַבְדְּךָ֙ וְעַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִֽתְפַּֽלְל֖וּ אֶל־ הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וְ֠אַתָּה תִּשְׁמַ֞ע מִמְּק֤וֹם שִׁבְתְּךָ֙ מִן־ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֖ וְסָלָֽחְתָּ׃
בְּמִסְפַּ֨ר הַיָּמִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר־ תַּרְתֶּ֣ם אֶת־ הָאָרֶץ֮ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים יוֹם֒ י֣וֹם לַשָּׁנָ֞ה י֣וֹם לַשָּׁנָ֗ה תִּשְׂאוּ֙ אֶת־ עֲוֺנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם אַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־ תְּנוּאָתִֽי׃
וַיַּעֲל֤וּ בִֽיהוּדָה֙ וַיִּבְקָע֔וּהָ וַיִּשְׁבּ֗וּ אֵ֤ת כָּל־ הָרְכוּשׁ֙ הַנִּמְצָ֣א לְבֵית־ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְגַם־ בָּנָ֖יו וְנָשָׁ֑יו וְלֹ֤א נִשְׁאַר־ לוֹ֙ בֵּ֔ן כִּ֥י אִם־ יְהוֹאָחָ֖ז קְטֹ֥ן בָּנָֽיו׃
כֹּ֣ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֡ה לֹא־ תַעֲלוּ֩ וְלֹא־ תִלָּ֨חֲמ֜וּ עִם־ אֲחֵיכֶ֗ם שׁ֚וּבוּ אִ֣ישׁ לְבֵית֔וֹ כִּ֧י מֵֽאִתִּ֛י נִהְיָ֖ה הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וַֽיִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ אֶת־ דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ מִלֶּ֥כֶת אֶל־ יָרָבְעָֽם׃
רְא֗וּ כִּֽי־ יְהוָה֮ נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֣ם הַשַׁבָּת֒ עַל־ כֵּ֠ן ה֣וּא נֹתֵ֥ן לָכֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁ֖י לֶ֣חֶם יוֹמָ֑יִם שְׁב֣וּ ׀ אִ֣ישׁ תַּחְתָּ֗יו אַל־ יֵ֥צֵא אִ֛ישׁ מִמְּקֹמ֖וֹ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃
וַיָּבֹ֞א שָׁפָ֤ן הַסֹּפֵר֙ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיָּ֥שֶׁב אֶת־ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דָּבָ֑ר וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִתִּ֤יכוּ עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־ הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ הַנִּמְצָ֣א בַבַּ֔יִת וַֽיִּתְּנֻ֗הוּ עַל־ יַד֙ עֹשֵׂ֣י הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה הַמֻּפְקָדִ֖ים בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

κατὰ δὲ τὸ εἰωθὸς τῷ Παύλῳ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐπὶ σάββατα τρία διελέξατο αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τῶν γραφῶν,
τάφος ἀνεῳγμένος ὁ λάρυγξ αὐτῶν, ταῖς γλώσσαις αὐτῶν ἐδολιοῦσαν, ἰὸς ἀσπίδων ὑπὸ τὰ χείλη αὐτῶν,
Μωϋσῆς γὰρ εἶπεν· Τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου, καί· Ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα θανάτῳ τελευτάτω·
Ἐχάρην δὲ ἐν κυρίῳ μεγάλως ὅτι ἤδη ποτὲ ἀνεθάλετε τὸ ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ φρονεῖν, ἐφʼ ᾧ καὶ ἐφρονεῖτε ἠκαιρεῖσθε δέ.
ἐμοὶ δὲ εἰς ἐλάχιστόν ἐστιν, ἵνα ὑφʼ ὑμῶν ἀνακριθῶ ἢ ὑπὸ ἀνθρωπίνης ἡμέρας· ἀλλʼ οὐδὲ ἐμαυτὸν ἀνακρίνω·
Τίς σοφὸς καὶ ἐπιστήμων ἐν ὑμῖν; δειξάτω ἐκ τῆς καλῆς ἀναστροφῆς τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ ἐν πραΰτητι σοφίας.
