וַתִּתֵּ֤ן תַּזְנוּתֶ֙יהָ֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם מִבְחַ֥ר בְּנֵֽי־ אַשּׁ֖וּר כֻּלָּ֑ם וּבְכֹ֧ל אֲשֶׁר־ עֽ͏ָגְבָ֛ה בְּכָל־ גִּלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם נִטְמָֽאָה׃
And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् । अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते
apaaM tokasya tanayasya jeSa indra suuriin kRNuhi smaa no ardham
anibhRSTataviSir hanty ojasaa yaM-yaM yujaM kRNute brahmaNas patiH
apaapa shakras tatanuSTim uuhati tanuushubhram maghavaa yaH kavaasakhaH
πάντων ἀνθρώπων ῥῦσθαι γενεήν τε τόκον τε.
