וּמִ֨ן־ בִּנְיָמִ֔ן גִּבּ֥וֹר חַ֖יִל אֶלְיָדָ֑ע וְעִמּ֛וֹ נֹֽשְׁקֵי־ קֶ֥שֶׁת וּמָגֵ֖ן מָאתַ֥יִם אָֽלֶף׃
וְאָנֹכִ֛י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וֵאלֹהִ֤ים זֽוּלָתִי֙ לֹ֣א תֵדָ֔ע וּמוֹשִׁ֥יעַ אַ֖יִן בִּלְתִּֽי׃
וּמִן־ הַגָּדִ֡י נִבְדְּל֣וּ אֶל־ דָּוִיד֩ לַמְצַ֨ד מִדְבָּ֜רָה גִּבֹּרֵ֣י הַחַ֗יִל אַנְשֵׁ֤י צָבָא֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה עֹרְכֵ֥י צִנָּ֖ה וָרֹ֑מַח וּפְנֵ֤י אַרְיֵה֙ פְּנֵיהֶ֔ם וְכִצְבָאיִ֥ם עַל־ הֶהָרִ֖ים לְמַהֵֽר׃
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהּ֙ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ מַה־ לָּ֖ךְ אֶסְתֵּ֣ר הַמַּלְכָּ֑ה וּמַה־ בַּקָּשָׁתֵ֛ךְ עַד־ חֲצִ֥י הַמַּלְכ֖וּת וְיִנָּ֥תֵֽן לָֽךְ׃
But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.
I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.
And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
brahma jinvatam uta jinvataM dhiyo hataM rakSaaMsi sedhatam amiivaaH
somaM yam brahmaaNo vidur na tasyaashnaati kash cana
vanaspatiH shamitaa devo agniH svadantu havyam madhunaa ghRtena
ἕτεροι δὲ ἐμπαιγμῶν καὶ μαστίγων πεῖραν ἔλαβον, ἔτι δὲ δεσμῶν καὶ φυλακῆς·
ἔλεγον οὖν οἱ μαθηταὶ πρὸς ἀλλήλους· Μή τις ἤνεγκεν αὐτῷ φαγεῖν;
