אַחַ֤ת ׀ שָׁאַ֣לְתִּי מֵֽאֵת־ יְהוָה֮ אוֹתָ֢הּ אֲבַ֫קֵּ֥שׁ שִׁבְתִּ֣י בְּבֵית־ יְ֭הוָה כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י חַיַּ֑י לַחֲז֥וֹת בְּנֹֽעַם־ יְ֝הוָ֗ה וּלְבַקֵּ֥ר בְּהֵיכָלֽוֹ׃
אֱ֭וִלִים יָלִ֣יץ אָשָׁ֑ם וּבֵ֖ין יְשָׁרִ֣ים רָצֽוֹן׃
וַיִּשְׁאֲל֥וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בַּֽיהוָ֑ה וְשָׁ֗ם אֲרוֹן֙ בְּרִ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּיָּמִ֖ים הָהֵֽם׃
כְּֽמַהְפֵּכַ֞ת סְדֹ֧ם וַעֲמֹרָ֛ה וּשְׁכֵנֶ֖יהָ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה לֹֽא־ יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־ יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן־ אָדָֽם׃
הָאֹמֵ֗ר אֶבְנֶה־ לִּי֙ בֵּ֣ית מִדּ֔וֹת וַעֲלִיּ֖וֹת מְרֻוָּחִ֑ים וְקָ֤רַֽע לוֹ֙ חַלּוֹנָ֔י וְסָפ֣וּן בָּאָ֔רֶז וּמָשׁ֖וֹחַ בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃
וַיֵּֽשְׁב֛וּ בַּגִּלְעָ֥ד בַּבָּשָׁ֖ן וּבִבְנֹתֶ֑יהָ וּבְכָֽל־ מִגְרְשֵׁ֥י שָׁר֖וֹן עַל־ תּוֹצְאוֹתָֽם׃
שְׂעִיר־ עִזִּ֥ים אֶחָ֖ד חַטָּ֑את מִלְּבַ֞ד חַטַּ֤את הַכִּפֻּרִים֙ וְעֹלַ֣ת הַתָּמִ֔יד וּמִנְחָתָ֖הּ וְנִסְכֵּיהֶֽם׃
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

الَّذِينَ ضَلَّ سَعْيُهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ يُحْسِنُونَ صُنْعًا
