וַיִּקְרָ֤א עֵלִי֙ אֶת־ שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וַיֹּ֖אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֣ל בְּנִ֑י וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הִנֵּֽנִי׃

וְהָיָ֗ה בְּיוֹם֙ זֶ֣בַח יְהוָ֔ה וּפָקַדְתִּ֥י עַל־ הַשָּׂרִ֖ים וְעַל־ בְּנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְעַ֥ל כָּל־ הַלֹּבְשִׁ֖ים מַלְבּ֥וּשׁ נָכְרִֽי׃

בֵּ֣ית הַ֭לֵּוִי בָּרֲכ֣וּ אֶת־ יְהוָ֑ה יִֽרְאֵ֥י יְ֝הוָ֗ה בָּרֲכ֥וּ אֶת־ יְהוָֽה׃

אַֽל־ תִּשְׂמְחִ֤י אֹיַ֙בְתִּי֙ לִ֔י כִּ֥י נָפַ֖לְתִּי קָ֑מְתִּי כִּֽי־ אֵשֵׁ֣ב בַּחֹ֔שֶׁךְ יְהוָ֖ה א֥וֹר לִֽי׃

וַיְהִ֨י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֤ה ׀ שֵׁנִית֙ אֶל־ חַגַּ֔י בְּעֶשְׂרִ֧ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֛ה לַחֹ֖דֶשׁ לֵאמֹֽר׃

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work,...

And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
