כֵּ֣ן אֲבָרֶכְךָ֣ בְחַיָּ֑י בְּ֝שִׁמְךָ אֶשָּׂ֥א כַפָּֽי׃

וְרָע֥וּ כְבָשִׂ֖ים כְּדָבְרָ֑ם וְחָרְב֥וֹת מֵחִ֖ים גָּרִ֥ים יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

וְשַׂמְתִּי֙ אֶת־ הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את לְשַׁמָּ֖ה וְלִשְׁרֵקָ֑ה כֹּ֚ל עֹבֵ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ יִשֹּׁ֥ם וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק עַל־ כָּל־ מַכֹּתֶֽהָ׃

And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.

Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِي وَتَرْحَمْنِي أَكُنْ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

muurdhaanaM gaavaH payasaa camuuSv abhi shriiNanti vasubhir na niktaiH

And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

dhaatur dyutaanaat savitush ca viSNor bharadvaajo bRhad aa cakre agneH

Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

mahe no adya suvitaaya bodhy uSo mahe saubhagaaya pra yandhi

pred v agnir vaavRdhe stomebhir giirbhi stotRRNaaM namasya\ ukthaiH

As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

क्षिप्रं भवति धर्मात्मा शश्वच्छान्तिं निगच्छति । कौन्तेय प्रतिजानीहि न मे भक्तः प्रणश्यति

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
