וַיְהִ֖י גְּבוּלָ֑ם חֶלְקַ֥ת וַחֲלִ֖י וָבֶ֥טֶן וְאַכְשָֽׁף׃

הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם מְֽסַפְּרִ֥ים כְּבֽוֹד־ אֵ֑ל וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָ֝דָ֗יו מַגִּ֥יד הָרָקִֽיעַ׃

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

وَبِالْحَقِّ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ وَبِالْحَقِّ نَزَلَ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

οὗ γάρ εἰσιν δύο ἢ τρεῖς συνηγμένοι εἰς τὸ ἐμὸν ὄνομα, ἐκεῖ εἰμι ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν.

svasaara aapo abhi gaa utaasaran saM graavabhir nasate viite adhvare

deva barhir vardhamaanaM suviiraM stiirNaM raaye subharaM vedy asyaam

λέγοντες· Εἰ σὺ εἶ ὁ χριστός, εἰπὸν ἡμῖν. εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· Ἐὰν ὑμῖν εἴπω οὐ μὴ πιστεύσητε·

यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदके । तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः

For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

aa ye vayo na varvRtaty aamiSi gRbhiitaa baahvor gavi

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

πονηροὶ δὲ ἄνθρωποι καὶ γόητες προκόψουσιν ἐπὶ τὸ χεῖρον, πλανῶντες καὶ πλανώμενοι.

yaahi vaayur na niyuto no achaa tvaM hi dhiibhir dayase vi vaajaan
