חֲנֹ֣ךְ לַ֭נַּעַר עַל־ פִּ֣י דַרְכּ֑וֹ גַּ֥ם כִּֽי־ יַ֝זְקִ֗ין לֹֽא־ יָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃

וְשֻׁפִּ֤ם וְחֻפִּם֙ בְּנֵ֣י עִ֔יר חֻשִׁ֖ם בְּנֵ֥י אַחֵֽר׃

וּבְעֵ֥ין רִמּ֛וֹן וּבְצָרְעָ֖ה וּבְיַרְמֽוּת׃

וְדָ֕ל לֹ֥א תֶהְדַּ֖ר בְּרִיבֽוֹ׃

וְהִשְׁלַכְתִּ֥י עָלַ֛יִךְ שִׁקֻּצִ֖ים וְנִבַּלְתִּ֑יךְ וְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךְ כְּרֹֽאִי׃

οἳ δʼ ἐν τείχει ἔσαν βεβλημένοι οὐτάμενοί τε.

ekasmin yoge bhuraNaa samaane pari vaaM sapta sravato ratho gaat

And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:

Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

adhaarayad ararindaani sukratuH puruu sadmaani sukratuH

This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

And they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:

vaajiniivatii suuryasya yoSaa citraamaghaa raaya iishe vasuunaam

Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

apaaM tokasya tanayasya jeSe marutvaan no bhavatv indra uutii

وَفِي خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ آيَاتٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ

tad dadhaanaa avasyavo yuSmaabhir dakSapitaraH

tac citraM raadha aa bharoSo yad diirghashruttamam

Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

dRSadvatyaam maanuSa aapayaayaaM sarasvatyaaM revad agne didiihi

oSadhiir iti maataras tad vo deviir upa bruve

iSaM tokaaya no dadhad asmabhyaM soma vishvataH
